subrule 1: cowboy boots do not invalidate the main rule.
subrule 2: neither do obvious panty-lines

Oh my goodness! I thought that it was just a Hanover thing, but apparently not. What is it with girls that only wear leggings?!?! It’s like they forgot to put their pants on. Why don’t I just wear my long underwear sometime? Ridiculous.

It’s pretty universal. when you throw in ugg boots it’s even worse, not that UCSD undergrads seem to be aware of.
That said, Jules, I really like your protest idea: what if all the grad students dressed up in mockery of the undergrad’s fashion stupidity? They probably wouldn’t notice, but it would be entertaining.

I think the funniest thing i ever saw was the girls who looked like 1980s jersey mall rats in my lab one day. i don’t think there was a costume party, either.
