Not to sound like some grumpy old man, but RFID just scares me. It just seems so vulnerable to hacking while simultaneously too convenient for Big Brother-style monitoring; not a combo I like. (Then again, I guess it’s better for it to be easily hackable in that case, beats the alternative.) And plus, you can get the animal rates for pay-access public beaches!

Anyway, it’s probably silly, but there’s no way I’m getting a speedpass anytime soon.
This 2Gb memory card has wi-fi. It’s $100. If you and your digital camera are within 90 feet your laptop, the card can automatically send your pictures to the laptop as you take them. If you’re anywhere that has a wireless network, it can automatically upload them to flickr, facebook, or any of at least 18 other photo sharing sites.

I took this picture on my honeymoon in Havre de Grace, Maryland. The squirrels on this boardwalk were not at all afraid of humans, and it shows. I would not be surprised if this guy had been hand fed a few happy meals this year. (more…)
Have you seen this clip of a Bugatti Veyron racing a Eurofighter Typhoon Jet? Probably neither vehicle would accommodate a baby seat, and the base price on the Veyron is a bit higher than the R8, (US$1,440,800), but I think it would be a fun drive in the event of very large lottery winnings.
