Yes yes, well, Happy Christmas and Birthday a day late. I suppose there’s no excuse, but the story is that we were to fly down to SAN from PDX yesterday (much cheaper tickets if you fly on the 25th) only to run into all sorts of delays and travel errors. Due to winter storms all over the West and Northwest, our flight crew was delayed, and then even then we were missing a first officer b/c our original guy was stolen by a cross-country flight. So, Alaska rousted a guy who was originally not working, he flew down from Seattle, and then we flew to San Jose, only to run into more issues there (the middle terminal is under construction, so to get from A to C you must exit the whole airport (and security) and take a shuttle. Not conducive to hurrying.
So, thus, no emails or posts or even phone calls. I’ll try to reach you later.
And finally, a shout out to First Officer Jim who left his family/Christmas up in Seattle to work on some stupid flight from PDX to SJC, and back. A subtle but significant hero who helped ~70 people get home on Nathaniel’s birthday.
