A couple guys from Gloucester are taking the next step when it comes to keeping their kids safe. After three years of experimenting, the backpacks that were tested by an outside lab ranked threat level two. It stops an assortment of bullets, including 9-millimeter hollow point bullets.

It’s a good idea, and one that my buddy Kerry and I talked about a few years ago when he got back from Iraq, saying that some security guys had come up with bulletproof briefcases to be used as last-ditch defense. Sad that we need to come up with this, but safety is good.
