Bit the bullet…

Well, over the weekend I went to the Apple Store and got a new little toy. It turns out to be a good thing since the HD in my laptop gave up the ghost this morning.
Anyway, first iPhone post!

Sweet! but, um, last I checked, laptop hard drive failure is less than optimal. hope stuff’s ok - and timely work with the SuperDuper post last week.
we want iPhone photos! I got to (briefly) try one yesterday.

That of course assumes that I’ve taken my own advice and backed up recently…
Things aren’t completely dead though, it’s just spitting IO errors everywhere. Oddly though, no SMART errors at all.

I just had the funniest visual pop into my mind, based on the “spitting IO errors everywhere” description. Sort of like a bad idea for an old-school Atari game or something. Avoid the IO errors spit by the miscreant hard drive! Quell its rage with your back-up disk! Blast 31337 haxxorz with your encryption gun!
Yes, my brain needs an upgrade or a defrag or something. There’s really just a lot of cobwebs and empty packages of Jell-O in there by now. Anyways, good luck with the hard-drive-fix-ifying and congrats on the iPhone-age, Mr. Apple Early Adopter.
Hooray G-Money! Hooray iPhone!

Yeah, definitely backed up my computer yesterday…. It had been a while and I had to change the partitioning on my external to make up for the increase in HD space due to the replacement, but I feel a lot better now after doing that.
Props on the iPhone though. Pretty jealous I must say. Oh, and hey G-money - the lady may be down in Maryland / Bahmore in early September, and I may make a mini road trip down. You be around and maybe up for a visitor some time around then?
