I ain’t even kiddin’, but he does seem to be trying to make a smallish profit from his efforts. I won’t necessarily hold the capitalism against him, though, since he’s pretty much serving the skeptical agenda quite well.
So much for the whole “aliens did it in a massive conspiracy involving Druid magic, the Illuminati, time-travelling Nazis, Cthulhu, etc.” idea…
