So, does anyone around the department have an OS X boot/installation CD? Looks like the best way to diagnose my computer here is to boot from CD and see if I can read the drive. I tried booting from my supposedly bootable backup, but that doesn’t seem to work. Turns out a lot of people have had similar problems, but there is a piece of software that will make nicely bootable backups.

Good news for Ford shareholders*, and even better news for Aston fans, since the deal can’t help but result in an increase in production quality. Anyway, Ford will retain a small <10% share, but here’s a raised pint to the consortium led by Prodrive founder David Richards, Aston Martin collector John Sinders, and Investment Dar and Adeem Investment Co.

* really, the best news would be “congrats on your sale of ___ shares of F”, but whatever.
