No, not Western in the multi-culti sense, but “Western” as in cowboys, guns, lawmen, horses, etc.

Anyways, I’m sitting here working on stuff with High Noon playing on the TV over there across the room. (Hooray Netflix!) If y’all ain’t seen this one, you really should: Gary Cooper as marshall with a young Lloyd Bridges as his deputy in one of the archetypical westerns, with folks like Grace Kelly, Lee Van Cleef, and Lon Chaney, Jr., among others, rounding out the ensemble.

But now I’m ramblin’ again… My point is that, in addition to being a spectacular example of the genre, the music is fantastic on it’s own. Both the instrumental score and the title ballad (as fine an example of cowboy music as there ever was), which is sung by none other than the one and only Tex Ritter! Awesome…

Reckon they really don’t make ‘em like they used to, especially when it comes to a western movie. Although, if you think you’d be interested in some more recently-filmed westerns that I found worthwhile, I’d be happy to provide some recommendations…

I am assuming that G-Money has already queued up somewhere, camped out in a Best Buy parking lot,waiting for the new iPhone. For those unaware, Steve Jobs introducted the new music/internet/camera/email beast at MacWorld today, amid much speculation about whether the thing even existed.

The iPhone has a 3.5-inch touchscreen, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 2-megapixel camera, runs OSX and Safari, and will be less than half and inch thick, which I think is pretty good. It will be available with two storage siz

es — a 4Gig model for $500 and 8 Gigs for $600 (with 2-year Cingular contract).
What’s really impressive is how much of an economic impact this made: Apple stock closed up over 9% (a lot, but okay, people are excited after the iPod’s success), while shares of RIMM (makes the Blackberry) and Palm (the Treo) were down 7.5% and almost 6% respectively. That’s hardcore.
