I might be on TV!

Friday, October 27th, 2006

As an extra.

They needed a stand-in to look like I was discussing science with one of the astronomers here, Mario Livio. It was totally posed in the library standing in front of a wall of Science (the journal) with me talking a little bit about my research and him going “uh huh. uh huh. uh huh.” while they filmed us.

Anyway, if you happen to be watching CNN and see Mario Livio mentioned, watch because you might see me too.

Road trip: hybrid style

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

K just sent this to me.  Not as sweet as John’s two-weeks-in-Florida gig, but oh well.  I’m a bit fan of the “$25 per day + expenses”… but Chris I’m afraid that a side-trip to Vegas wouldn’t fly.  could try, though?

Man, if I didn’t have a job…

Wedgies not for authority figures

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

That’s what Park High School (Livingston, MT) Principal Eric Messerli learned this past week.  Apparently in a good-old-boys joking around sort of way, he “was suspended for two days without pay and four days with pay for grabbing a Park High senior’s soccer jersey and pulling it over his head and giving the student a “wedgie” by pulling up on the waist band of his underwear. The incident happened on Oct. 5 at a junior varsity soccer game.”

I like how it’s “wedgie” in quotes.  Like “la-zor”.
