Saturday, September 2nd, 2006

So, this digital television station in the UK is going to be showing a movie with a documentary flavor that centers on the hypothetical assassination of the president in October of 2007. Thoughts?

Ermenegildo Zegna or Two Stories About Clothes

Saturday, September 2nd, 2006

I’m going to a wedding in a few weeks (with a 50% chance that President Clinton will be there) and I was in desperate need of a suit. I have a tux, I have my velvet jacket, but I have no suit whatsoever.

Now, since I’m employed (and because Kirsten just got promoted to being Vice President), I figured that I should get something decent. Esquire suggested that there was a good suit store only about a mile from my house, so Kirsten and I headed over. We walked through the door, went into the back of the store, and saw a marvelous rack of suits. Then I checked the pricetag… $2200. Then it was just a matter of dodging the saleswoman to get the hell out of there. A suit from Banana Republic costs much much less.

Now for the second story. I was just at the Nordstrom Rack looking at their clearance suits and jackets. There was a soft brown jacket that fit perfectly. 50% wool, 30% camel, and 20% silk. The brand: Ermenegildo Zegna. The original price: $1295. My price: well over 75% off. It’s going to be a very comfy fall.
