Coolest Hard Drive Failure Ever!
Thursday, August 31st, 2006Well, there isn’t a real page, just a sec of pictures, but look at it.
Apparently that’s what you get when the heads rub against a running (but non-working) hard drive for a few months.

“go sell crazy somewhere else, we’re all stocked up here.”
RadioShack laid off 400 employees by sending them an e-mail saying that their jobs had “unfortunately” been eliminated. “I thought I had stopped being surprised at the callousness of corporate acts,” said University of Southern California business professor Warren Bennis.
Actually, I have two: commercials that drive you crazy.
1) the redbull on the moon commercial. so terribly nerdy, but it drives me crazy not because it perpetuates the moonlanding-was-shot-on-a-stage myth, but rather because wings don’t work on the moon, being airless and all.
2) the car commercial with the animated “spokesman”, where the whole commercial is “outtakes”. i don’t know exactly why, but it makes me want to hit something. apparently i’m not the only one.
and, if you really want to make your head hurt, go here. stumbled across this while trying to find a video of the above commercials.

This is for Tim especially, but others may also enjoy this week’s free download - Chris Thomas King’s “Baptized in Dirty Water” (Oh Brother Where Art Thou’s Tommy Johnson). Nevermind the Katrina message, it’s a great song with serious guitar skillz.
(1) It is reportedly 80-90% certain that the Sox will trade David Wells within the next 48 hours - he cleared waivers back in the beginning of August and as such can be traded without restriction to any club.
(2) Francona “spoke to Ortiz and said he hasn’t suffered any more episodes”, after Big Papi checked back into Mass General last evening, the second time this month.
(3) ESPN.com has an interesting survey going on - “which player do the Red Sox miss most: David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, or Jason Varitek?” Looking that the regional results, the whole country is blue (for Ortiz) except New England, where Maine, VT, NH, and Mass all picked Varitek. And it’s not just because he wears the C - as I have commented before, the loss of Tek directly correlates to the decline in pitching performance, especially with the youngsters.
