So, I was sittin’ here, eatin’ my salad and watchin’ the All-Star game, when this commercial came up that featured Joe Buck encountering some sports fans near an elevator. I don’t even know what the commercial was for, but it did remind me how much I dislike Buck, something that I had thought earlier, back during the pre-game show when he was giving a brief commentary directly to the camera. I guess he’s alright as a play-by-play man, but, unlike the dweebs on the aforementioned commercial, I really don’t dig on his voice that much. Seeing him in front of the camera (rather than just hearing him) really summons up the hater in me.

I’m now sure why, but for whatever reason, Buck doesn’t do it for me. Of course, I’m an odd one: if it were up to me, I’d have Kristofferson and Willie give all major sportscasts. I’m not sure that play-by-play and color commentary distinctions would apply in such a situation…
