Coke sold to Pepsi?

Wednesday, July 5th, 2006

Well, almost.  Apparently they got caught.  Well, what happened was that they mailed the secrets to Pepsi and said “we want some cay$h” but Pepsi turned around and called Coke and the FBI.  oops.
Actually, I think it’s interesting to speculate as to what could have happened.  As in, say Pepsi now has the formula and could make an exact twin to Coke - what would it do?  Do they make a new product “new Pepsi” and try to get people to go with it over Coke? Or tweak Pepsi to be more like Coke? or just this way they know how Coke does it and they don’t do anything?

I really don’t like either of them, so I’m not one to judge - but I still have to think that a lot of people’s preference is brand loyalty more than the actual taste of one individual bottle/can?

A new study has found that eating fewer calories slows muscle aging, according to a study at the University of Calgary. In the study, elderly lab rats who were fed a nutritious but calorie-restricted diet were able to keep up with younger rats, which is kinda cool. Unfortunately the rats were a diet with 40% fewer calories, which isn’t good for humans: “…the team doesn’t suggest humans should severely cut back on what we eat. For the average active person, a similar diet would be drastic and possibly destructive to muscle, especially if the calories come from protein but hopefully we can figure out how to take advantage of the finding.

Note: this isn’t a terribly PC title but I’m kinda proud of it - the bastard doesn’t deserve his own post, anyway. Oh yeah, here’s something on his death. On a serious note, I think his demise is actually a huge boost for Bush/GOP/etc, since this way his kind escape the humiliation of the sentencing/jail/just desserts.
