Mira finished her “Foundation Skills Continued” course tonight. They had us each run an “obstacle” course, with stations where the dog had to do various commands we’ve worked on during the class. Mira won “Best Down”, “Best Recall” (ha! if only they saw her run away the other week!), and “Most Improved”. Though the “Most Improved” was actually for both of us. She’s such a smart dog and loves to learn.

She’s also starting to tire a little more easily, which is fabulous. I had her out in the backyard, throwing the tennis ball (with the new no-slobber-on-the-hands “chuck it” stick), and after about 15 minutes (she had to run back up hill to me though), she went after the ball and took about 4 steps with it in her mouth before just dropping into a down position. It was glorious. She followed me right in when I picked up the balls and led her inside, no side trips into the woods.

so, for the drive down to mum’s place last weekend, we rented a Nissan Altima (which I think is the twin of the Infinity G35, is that right Nick?) and while there are some improvements I’d make, it was still a pretty sweet ride. Exchange the automatic tranny for a stick and I’d be happy. This girl thinks so too.
