Hockey Song
Posted by Jeremy.
This has been bothering me for years. Tonight at the hockey game as the players were coming out for the third period, the PA had this song which starts with a bunch of “la laaa la de da” lines. And then someone who sounds like Sting sings what I think are the words “life is right” (could also be “life is life” or something like that). I’ve Googled these lyrics along with some other snippets I remember with no luck. They used to play this song at SLU hockey games when I was in college, and ever since then I’ve been trying to figure out the song’s title and who sings it. If you know, please help me out!

Funny story about that song - I think it’s called “Life is life”, actually - Karli first heard that at a bar in the Canary Islands, at a birthday party for a friend of hers, and they played it a few times… anyway, I think I have the info kicking around somewhere, I’ll try to send it to you?

Indeed, if you use “life is life” it comes right up. It’s by a band called Opus. http://www.lyricz.net/O/Opus/73619/

wow, that’s weird - i had a comment and it disappeared! but yeah, it’s “life is life” by Opus, and somewhere I have (had?) a copy of the song, but now I can’t find it. I suspect it disappeared during the last few cycles of re-format/reinstall Windows on my home comp. oops.

found it! but that’s weird that it got lost.
actually, the weird part is that I didn’t see Holly’s two comments until just now.

Also, here’s a plug for another “Hockey Song”, by the Tragically Hip, it’s on my iTunes…
You said you didn’t give a fuck about hockey
And I never hear someone say that before
You held my hand and we walked home the long way
You were loosening my grip on Bobby Orr.
