Are people just busy?

We’re not getting a lot of blog traffic. Wazzup?
Maybe it’s all tied to the fact that no one is stopping by my office to socialize these days.
Of course, there’s an upside to that. I’m actually getting work done. ![]()

I’m still keeping my regular pace of at least 2-3 posts a week.
I think the newbies/lightweight posters out there should shoulder more of the burden.
Plus, social hour almost never happens down in the basement, so nyah!

Yeah, it is kinda discouraging when there’s no follow-up to posts. I know that many of mine aren’t of super-great quality, but it helps when you get comments.

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head there, Michael: quality post equals more follow-up comments.
Also, some posts don’t seem to need much commentary, particularly those of the “hey, check this link out” variety.

see, tim, the problem is that there any such correlation - sometimes a quality post will inspire 10 comments, but often none. similarly a lame little link-post may generate 2 hours worth of discussion *sigh*
anyway, i was just saying that it’s really a positive-feedback loop both ways; more comments/readership encourages more posts, while silence yields further silence.
finally I agree with Tim - newbies/infrequent posters could help out a little?
