Say it ain’t so, Theo!

Admittedly, I paid less attention to the MLB this year than I have in a long long time, but Theo’s resignation after signing a deal caught me by surprise. It’s sad, both b/c I was a fan of the guy and I just hate to see the team “fall apart” so quickly… I’m sure that I’ll get over it if we hire the newly available Paul DePodesta, but I don’t know that he’ll necessarily want to sign on, given the pressure/media effort that comes with the Boston market.

Well, shoot!
I dunno what this will eventually mean for the Sox, but it sure seemed like Theo was a good fit inmany ways.
Jeremy and I were talking, and it will definitely be a few years before the young guys Theo recruited down in the farm systems ripen and show whether his legacy is really as great as it seems like it might be.
No matter how you look at it, though, it was a bit of a shocker, and it will be real darned interesting to see who Boston gets to replace him.

maybe there’s hope?
(as long as it’s not Dan Duquette, I’m happy.)
