Texas Football, Y’all

Saturday, October 8th, 2005  dirty

Well, that makes for a pleasant surprise: I went to work out, bolstered by the good news from the Trinity game, and I return to find even better news about the UT game.

Not only did the Longhorns stick it to the Sooners today in the Red River Shootout, adding to their respectable winning streak that’s been going since last year’s UT-Oklahoma matchup, but my alma mater, Trinity finally woke up in the second half and showed Huntingdon College, an upstart D3 challenger from Montgomery, Alabama, what playing football in Texas is all about.

I feel like I should go home and watch “Varsity Blues” and “Friday Night Lights”

Rulez addendum…

Saturday, October 8th, 2005  working

Rule #2758 = If you don’t spend half an hour each morning straightening up around the lab and returning things to their proper places before the rest of your labmates arrive to work, you will spend at least twice that amount of time during the rest of your day looking for things or helping your labmates find things that ain’t where they’re supposed to be.

Corollary = The need to straighten things up each day is not reduced by one’s efforts to assign a logical degree of organization to designating proper places for everything.
