Norwich Police Need to eat more happy donuts

Friday, June 10th, 2005

Ok, since there really isn’t any crime in Norwich, the cops need something to do. So they pull people over like it’s their job (ok, ok). So not only have they pulled Holly over multiple times, but the other night, they got me too. Driving home around 12:30, I pulled off the road that goes into Norwich and on to Church street and on come the blue lights. After asking me a bunch of questions (where do you live, where are you coming from, do you go to dartmouth, have you had any alcohol, can i see your lisence and registration, what did you eat for breakfast 7 days ago, etc.) he finally told me why he pulled me over. I knew it was not for speeding. (I am the slow driver that everyone angerly passes) And I had already passed 2 other cops, so I was going a nice 22 mph (3 safe miles under the speed limit). So why was I pulled over?
Because I had graduation tassles hanging from my rearview mirror!! I got a warning for that!! Now, I have never gotten a warning before ever, so I was not at all happy about this. At least the cop was friendly about it. But I think that was unneccessary. Is it even illeagle to have those there? No one has ever said anything about it before and I have had them there since high school.

So to recap my eventful drive, don’t drive in Norwich with things on your rearview mirror.
They are a windshield obstruction.
