MacOS on Intel

Monday, June 6th, 2005

It’s official. Starting in 2006 we’ll be able to buy our Powerbooks and PowerMacs with Pentiums in them.

I wonder if it’s going to change anything at all. Or at least anything besides having to wait years and years for IBM to produce faster chips.

Wicked

Monday, June 6th, 2005

Kirsten and I are going to go see Wicked in December. I’m not sure if it’s the actual broadway company or a traveling company, but it’s going to be in Hartford for about a month. Tickets seem to be between $80 and $35 depending on where you sit.

I’m psyched!

I’m not sure where theater fits into the whole entertainment pantheon, so I’ll put this in “from the road.”

Television

One point for fox. This summer, they’re not showing “reruns” of The O.C.

No, it’s the “summer season.”

Classy.

Not Television

but movies instead…

There don’t seem to be a lot of big movies coming out this summer that I actually want to go to. Here’s the short list by month:

June
Mr. and Mrs. Smith (Kirsten doesn’t want to see it because of the whole Brad-Angelina thing)
Batman Begins
Bewitched (looks dumb in a funny way)

July
Wedding Crashers (this is probably the summer movie that I most want to see)
The Island (they use the word ’splode in the description)
Fantasic Four
I’m going to wait for video to see Stealth

August
Dukes of Hazzard
Pink Panther
Valiant
The 40 Year Old Virgin

Hmm, I guess once you make a list it’s actually a pretty big list. More than one movie a week anyway.

I caved

So there’s now a “television” category.

Glad I wasn’t taking I-91 S

Monday, June 6th, 2005

About half-way between Hartford and Springfield there was a semi that caught fire sometime this morning. It was out by the time I drove by and a flatbed was getting ready to take it away, but it must have been impressive.

The fire got so hot that the aluminum cab of the truck burned. I’m used to seeing car fires where only the interior is destroyed. This truck was completely gone.

And the traffic was backed up about 13 miles.
