A new rule, inspired by finals prep…

Particularly, the final project for the quantum information class.

The Life Aquatic

Monday, May 30th, 2005

I just finally got around to seeing The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Unfortunately, I have to say that it was a lot weaker than The Royal Tenenbaums but it wasn’t so bad that I regret seeing it. You just have to like random humor.

There was a note at the end that really points out the humor of it. All through the movie, there was one character who was singing in Portugese and playing guitar. It turns out that all the songs were David Bowie songs translated and adapted for the movie. Not a lot of other directors would bother doing something that obscure.

Tales of woe from the P76 lab…

So, you know it’s time to replace the crappy 30- to 50-year-old equipment when it’s failing so much that even the professor has to muck around with it for a couple of hours to get it to work, even in a half-ass fashion.

Grumble, grumble. Back to working on my own stuff, now that I’ve had my daily dose of time lost in room 209. :(
