Another clever idea, but damn if I wouldn’t end up taking a shotgun to the thing. Although I guess maybe you could set it so that it doesn’t run away if you get up immediately?

Genius (n): a person or idea which is so clever, so brilliant, so incredibly amazing and yet so simple that you hit yourself in the head and wonder “why didn’t I think of that first”?

“In response to the statements put forth this past week by Symantec Corporation suggesting that Mac users are at substantial risk to infections from viruses, our company crafted and announced a contest that would have paid a $25,000 prize for the successful creation of such a virus.”

This was from the CEO of DVForge, but unfortunately after much external pressure, they’ve had to cancel the contest.

Slashdot tells us that the prize would be $50k if a Symantec employee won.

I think this guy says it well:

Symantec is screaming “The sky is falling! The sky is falling!” - would you trust the company saying that when they’re the ones selling the fallout shelters?

Kirsten and I were just making some bread for Easter when she looked up and said, “Look at that!”

“That” turned out to be a very pretty fox just sunning itself in the backyard. It hung out for a minute or two and then headed off through the neighbor’s yard.

It really reminds me that the house here in CT isn’t that far from the wilds… even though the center of Hartford, with its sky scrapers, is only 2 miles from here.
